Can you hear that? Ok, then answer me this...
In a perfect world on a perfect day, not an isolated perfect day, but a perfect day in the middle of weeks of consecutive perfect days, what would your ideal time to wake up to start that day be?
Now, don't rush into that answer... think for a moment. A perfect day...
Consider what time you would have gone to sleep the night before, the night after at the end of a perfect day that is. How much sleep would you want, knowing that there is this perfect day just waiting for you at the other end but not knowing how much longer these perfect days will last for?
I got up maaaad early today, again. Now I personally am quite fond of sleep. It's a good friend of mine. But we're probably not best friends if I'm honest, but that's ok. We get on just fine. Today was too early realistically speaking, but the temptation to say "boooy, I'd have the longest lie in" isn't that tempting to me either? Is it just me?
I'm gonna go with 6am start after a midnight 'lights out'. That's pretty cool... no? I always feel like I have one over on the rest of you suckers when I'm up early. Sneakily get things done so that I can appear to be casually amazing, no big deal....
I then get to thinking what would fill up my perfect day?
Morning run? check
Sexy time? check
Sil Lim Tao? check
Make some music? check
Write? check
Watch something funny? check
Have an inspiring conversation? check
Go to work? check... no, really... but not for too long...
Teach someone something new to them? check
The list goes on, and just so you know it's really me typing, food would be the punctuation marks to all these activities... of course...
Soooo, what is your perfect time to wake up to make the most of your perfect day? What activities would be in there? Share...
You do realise that there will be no excuse for not implementing this from tomorrow though, right?! Goood...

Ok...I though enough...now...
Here the list to start a perfect day:
§ awaking with the last flash memories of that dream you want to be true
§ breakfast (sweet italian style - croissant milk and coffee) in bed whilst listening to Bill Withers tune Lovely day
§ morning cuddles (but missing the man I'll be happy with a nice hot bath)
§ back in bed or sofa and read the latest news
§ make some music
§ my perfect day is when I'm off work so -NO WORKING
§ eat more...lunch...maybe out in a nice restaurant
§ make more music
§ see and spend time with the people I love most
§ eat again (maybe a bottle of red at this stage)
§ evening cuddles...but still be happy with a hot bath!
Hmmm. This is a hard one. Because to me a perfect day would consist of NOT going to work also (I agree with Valentina).
SO, my perfect days are WEEKENDS and getting up at 10am or later suits me just fine (I'm usually asleep by midnight if I haven't gone out).
HOWEVER, during the week I don't have a perfect day! I do HOWEVER have a GROUNDHOG day... and I won't bore you with that because as I start typing about it... I find myself zzzzzzzz off!
HOWEVER, as boring as my life may be... I'm happy :-)
Awesome blog post. Hmmmm... a perfect day..
- Wake up at 6.30am, woken by the sun, not an alarm.
- Morning snuggles!
- Eat some cereal and drink a pint of water
- Run for an hour along the river with an awesome playlist on my iPhone, saying "good morning" with a smile to everyone I pass, shaming them into being less "London" and replying (I smile here because a year ago I would have laughed in your face if you told me running would be in my perfect day!)
- Hot shower
- Protein Shake
- Walk the kids to school :-)
- Do a 3 hour morning clinic at a GP surgery that is 10 mins walk from my house (with a 15 minute tea break halfway through the clinic)
- Meet my husband (!) for lunch back at home (which he cooked!)
- Post-lunch sexy time!
- Drive my parents somewhere new for the afternoon- e.g. a gallery / lecture / museum. NB there would be NO arguments with my dad.
- Pick up the kids from their after-school activity
- Cook dinner (with the kids' help)
- Family dinner with interesting conversation
- Call various girlfriends on the phone for a chat and to schedule coffee/lunch with them later in the week
- Watch Eastenders! Don't judge me!!
- Read a good book/journal article for half an hour
- Watch a movie in bed with bedtime snuggles
- Sleep at 10.30pm.
Whohooooooo!!!
:-)
Perfect time to "reveille" would be 5am. And it'd be perfect if I didn't have to sleep more than 6 hours.
Activity-wise, I'm in the middle of reshuffling my priorities, so don't know what perfect is anymore, although some of these would include:
- 1.5h of hot yogging
- gymming
- swimming
- laughing
- kissing
- cuddling
- sexxing
- driving (or cruising :)
- gloriously eating
- marvelling
- piano playing
- maybe singing
- reading
- reality transurfing (text me, if you wannna know more)
Btw, are yours in that order?
Just waking up with no pain and no fatigue would be a perfect day for me. After that the possibilities would be endless.
8am would be a good time to start it, not too early not too late still lots of the day to go.
Porridge breakfast in the garden with fresh squeezed juice and a pot of tea.
A bike ride or a roller skate in the park.
Time with my husband.
Time with my daughters,
Time with my friends (THis one would be lovely as fatigue doesn't allow for alot of good quality time with my friends),
Cooking for all the above (I love to cook for people but again rarely have the energy anymore to really do it as I would like).
Baking, (as it's a perfect day do I not gain weight if I eat cake)?
Cuddles and loving.
Curl up with a good book
Bubbly bath
Bed about 11.00.
My next perfect day would include more of the above but would actually include cleaning the house and maybe a swim, time with my mum and so on and so forth.
Alas perfect days do not exist and work and other shit gets in the way.
Valentina... Loving your day. I've been absorbing some serious Bill Withers lately so I'm borrowing that for my day... thanks ;)
WoooGirl... Turn your weekdays into weekends, I know you've got it in you... go on... maybe it's time for a career change...?
Those of us that know Keebs knows there'll be no staying awake after 9pm after that day, ESPECIALLY with a movie on... lol
Peter... Share the transurfing thing with us all! And no, mine are not in order as that is an incomplete list from me. I'm stealing ideas from you guys first... :)
JenBe... Come New Years Skating to skate those troubles away dear :)
I can't answer this question properly because I rarely have a systematic routine for my day, but I'll put my days in general.
my day usually involves me getting as much rest as my body tells me it needs (not restricted to regular hours), depending on what foolish way I've angered it the day before, followed by an assortment of things/events that induce rage/curiosity/relaxation + other great emotions which are currently my fuel for creativity.
After creativity comes destruction, by which I mean editing, by which I mean stress/rage/more curiosity/pride/and that weird emotion you get (which is slightly different to pride though probably related) when you finish something and for that point in time it's the most amazing thing you've ever done.
Food very frequently is forgotten, and only gets invited at the behest of alarms on my phone, the sole purpose of which are to remind me to eat.
Exercise used to be on there, but I can't afford my dance class any more so it's pretty much as and when I'm stressed enough to take a break from writing, and guilty enough to do some form of physical activity.
sprinkle with friends and family and TV (I've relapsed) etc.
though I guess I can add I would be much more productive with what I'm writing
